IMG_2425We’re fast approaching five great years of working with Google, since December 2009 when we projected a giant animated advent calendar onto Westfield in London for the UK launch of Chrome. Every project has been an honour and a pleasure, and so we were delighted when they handed us the task of designing and building a stand for YouTube at the recent Guardian Edinburgh International Television Festival.

IMG_2443A key aspect was the demonstration of Google’s Chromecast device, for use in the home. So we used this as an opportunity to make visitors feel ‘at home’ with YouTube, creating a relaxed environment with a mock house structure, living room and seating areas for delegates to host meetings or take the load off their feet.

IMG_0010The space also featured a kitchen area serving the most staple of British refreshments – tea and toast – throughout the duration of the event.

IMG_2422As you can see, the stand proved hugely popular throughout the Festival. And it’s not the only event we’re working on for YouTube – there’s more to come in October, so watch this space.
