Last summer, Appleton Estate asked us to come up with a way of communicating their Jamaican heritage and premium positioning to consumers at events and festivals across the UK. So we created the Rum Bus, a mobile bar aboard a 1960s Bedford bus faithfully restored in the style of Kingston’s legendary Omnibus Series.

Appleton Estate are taking the bus back on the road this year, and it’s pitched up in Manchester for a whole month. Run by West Didsbury cocktail bar The Violet Hour, the Rum Bus can be found in the Great Northern Square serving Jamaican Mules,Mai Tais and Rum Punches until mid-August.

We had a great time creating the Rum Bus. It was certainly a challenge doing the Omnibus service justice and trying to make it as authentic as possible, but we’re delighted with the end result and so it’s great to see it out and about again this summer – especially in such resplendent weather.
