Brief: Create a touring experience that encourages the public and those in higher education to give the game of basketball a go.
Our audience insight: “I haven’t really played basketball before, it looks fun but I haven’t got access to a hoop or a ball.”
Activation: Pop-up basketball – a versatile, visually intriguing and fun opportunity to try the sport. We fitted a retractable hoop onto the back of a branded pick-up truck which toured London, Newcastle, Manchester and Birmingham with a team of professional basketball coaches.
Results: Nearly 10,000 people tested out their basketball skills over the week that the activity was live. Based on official footfall figures, there were 300,000 opportunities to see the activity across all locations. The launch event was attended by 13 media outlets with a feature broadcast on CBBC Newsround.
